Why do so many of us feel sadness over the death of such a creature? Seriously, why?
It just seems odd to me. Why do humans feel sadness over the death of an animal we have never known? Scientifically and biologically speaking, why would we care at all? It's not like these animals were ever pets. I've seen my sister tear up when a lobster was attacked by another lobster after the pincher band accidentally came off in one of those restaurant aquariums. Why? What is it that makes many many humans feel sadness (as I did) over an animal it has absolutely no connection to and even has occasionally eaten?
I find it rather odd is all.
