Here in AU, no-one really gives a rats about religious beliefs in day to day life... nothing is pushed in your face...
if you want religion, you go look for it.
All I can say about pending friction within the family and/or community is that you need to weigh up whether your outspoken belief will be worth all the drama.
Not believing or believing is a state of mind only, (although they'd like you to believe otherwise), so no-one and nothing will change that in your mind irrespective of they or you do.
There's no harm done if you want to go along with the bullshit to keep eg: mum happy.
It will impact on your time on Sundays for example, and yes you will be bored shitless at times, and smile a lot, but only you can decide if it's worth it.
I've been taking my mum to church (Greek Orthodox) regularly until she passed away. My 2 older sisters weren't religious either, but we went along because it made mum happy.
