Our lobbyists are very effective, it's just that in our case the consumer lobby won, and with reason. If States do not implement directives trough legal measure they can be sanctioned. I'm a euro skeptical, but I reckon some advantages the EU has brought. There is a vast group of laws protecting consumers directly or indirectly against unworthy commerce and businesses.
