Oh this conversation was about 9 months after I came out.
But funny story. I hope your father's sentiment was due to his indifference rather than avoidance.

Thank you for your input. I hope it was! My mother is pretty cool. I think she would be an atheist if the damn church didn't make her feel guilty and anything less than smart.
The woman went to school in Spain and dropped out in 7th grade. She then came to the states and graduated college after not being in school for nearly 20 years.
And yet she think she is not smart enough to discern truth from delusion?
Makes me incredibly frustrated.
