Essentially, any phenomenon that a religious person interprets as having religious meaning or content.
Some examples: visions of angels, god speaking to someone, committment to a set of 'truths' that demonstrably conflict with reality, speaking in tongues etc
These are bizarre experiences and/ or irrational states of mind. Thus best studied from a psychopathological standpoint.
