Why are deists so annoying?

The few deists I know seem to be aware that their belief is mostly based on intuition and thin arguments like the designed or fine-tuned universe.

This is what makes it all the more confusing for me.

Pretty much every Deist I've spoken to/met, is actually pretty damn intelligent. Like you say, they're very much aware they can't provide a convincing argument. But this is why I think they're being intellectually dishonest with themselves. Why is it they can convince themselves, but no one else?

They're thinking with their hearts -- I feel like there's a god.
