You know what's amusing to me, when I was a NATO peacekeeper, in an infantry unit, we used a lesser escalation of force and less aggressive equipment and tactics, you know, while we were maintaining the peace in a former warzone in which attempted genocide had gone down recently. We left all of our favorite toys back in Germany - and treated the locals with kid gloves. Apparently, law enforcement, on american soil, sans war and genocide....leveraged against civilians and not insurgents- is under no such restriction.
