Sure, if they buy it at release - I buy the damn things on steam for ten bucks when they go on sale. I get my money's worth, I'll sometimes fire up COD / COD2 sometimes when I'm needing to kill some virtual nazis.
Such games simply aren't worth sixty bucks to me. £60? Holy shit, you guys get hosed.
Your point is well taken, though - single player games with shitty multiplayer bolted on suck (as do primarily multiplayer games with craptastic single player).
