My neighborhood does too. However, I take issue with your claim that the most affordable food is also the most unhealthy. Yes, it's true that much "affordable" food is unhealthy processed crap, but some of the least expensive food items you can buy are among the healthiest options in the store, including fresh produce, whole grains, and beans.
Quite right. You can batch-cook meals and freeze them down, a kilo of chicken costs a few euros, onions etc, search online for recipes. Cheap and healthy.
