Honestly I don't know what I would suggest. If you're tough enough, you should probably hit back and hope that the bully doesn't just come back with his friends and beat the crap out of you. If you were like me, a timid wimp who just wanted to mind his own business, I have no concrete answer. I never solved my bully problem. I escaped it by graduating from school, and on the rare occasion someone actually started messing with me at work, telling a manager fixed the problem real fast.
If you're better at making friends with people than I was, probably get a posse to hang out with during school hours. Maybe make friends with a big guy that will scare the bullies away.
