If a woman loses her vocal cords, is opting for her singing career a "mute" point or a "moot" point?

I just thought the snide correction by Rexbeccarox was poorly worded and too strong to fit the situation. I thought she might just apologize with a simple "Oops, I didn't really mean it as a putdown, sorry." Yeah, either that, or start comparing my university degrees with hers and get all fussy with her thesis or literary skills vs mine, but it didn't turn that way either. No, so far she just wants to reiterate the insult that I wouldn't know the meaning of mute vs moot.
I really like her a great deal and I have great respect for her sharp analytical mind that I see often on the board, but she's showing us just how stubborn she can be.
