I got the best gift that I could have hoped for today. I hadn't said anything because it paned me to think about it, but my son's mother had major surgery this morning. Despite us not being together any longer, it still pains me that she is ill, mostly for my son's sake.
The plan was to remove a section of her colon to remove a 45mm tumor, and proceed depending on whether it was malignant or benign. As it turns out the "tumor" was no tumor at all, but a benign polyp, which was removed via laparoscopy.
I'm so relieved I can't even put it into words.
