My Sam was like that with "Sammy". It was a good and sure way to earn a percussion-induced headache. She wasn't too keen on the full version of her name either, much preferring the diminutive.
Yeah, I don't hate it, but I prefer that people stick to "Becca" instead of "Rebecca". It just sounds so... Victorian.
