This guy here epitomizes what a fruitbat is. He is the essence of fruitbattery.

Where I come from, we use the term 'batshit', as in the phrase "David Icke is batshit insane."

While it is excellent to add 'batshit' as an additional descriptor to a noun, it can be used as a noun. As in "That is batshit" or "They've gone batshit".
