She reacted as any mother would when their daughter comes to them with bruises and someone to blame. I have no idea what her views are having never actually met her before then.
Ordinarly I would agree with that, but if I'm a parent who sees my kid aking up goofy stories like this over and over and over again, eventually I'm going to start looking at their claims with a fair amount of skepticism. And I wouldn't be at all surprised if this wasn't the first time she pulled a stunt like that.
