I got that going on, and prefer that solitude. Give me a solo job and I excel without those pesky talkative partners. Even when I'd party with friends I often would go to a quiet back porch and sip on my beer with one or two friends over a loud music blasting atmosphere. I like the internet because I can vanish for days or months and even years at a time. If I am around people then I tend to block them out and go back into my own little world anyway.
See, at work I put on a persona that apes how I am with friends and family, so I'm more opinionated and goofy or whatever, but I keep distance by keeping my home life private. I never go out with my work friends (or my home-life friends, come to think of it, damn getting old). It helps that I have a kid and horses to take care of as an excuse to stay home.
