In this case simply someone who falls for the emotional appeal not wanting to be part of divisive human behavior. Humans having conflict is not a good reason to reject one position over another.

Atheists also do not agree on all things all the time. This moron while rightfully seeing the conflict of religion used it as an excuse to eventually become a believer.

He fell for our species natural evolutionary sense of compassion. To him only a higher power can appeal to our kinder side.
