Debate consists of one party setting out an argument or series of arguments, followed by other parties setting out rebuttals and counter-arguments, thereby developing a back and forth (steady, ladies). It does not involve making unsupported assertions and then whining about hatred and persecution when someone dares challenge them. Save that for the pulpit fodder.
