My father and I have an agreement that we will each end the other's life if that sort of situation occurs for either of us.

Wow, I wouldn't master the courage. In fact I watched my father wither away for ten days, fully knowing he's about to go after he suffered a stroke.

We're both physicians so we came up with the agreement while I was in medical school, after I had been in a motorcycle accident.

I honestly don't want to linger.

I've seen and sat with patients as they've gone through a long, lingering process and it's not for me.
