Yeah, because if theists act bigoted toward us for no reason other than that we disagree with them- to say nothing of if they're bigoted toward trans folk!- then that's definitely our problem, and we need to change.

In fact, hey, I know! Why don't we all just become theists, since we don't want the religious bigots to think we're in any way different from them!

So what if we're on the fringe? What's wrong with the fringe? Do you have any idea how much christianity's continued insistence that certain other fringes- women's rights and gay rights come to mind- are morally corrupt has hurt them in the past decade or so? One thing recent history should absolutely have made clear to you is that the religious right doesn't get to dictate what's on the fringe anymore, or how people react to that; we don't need to kowtow to their prejudices in order to be "acceptable" to them, and if anything it's your cowardly desire to always be mindful of their orthodoxy so as to not stray too far from it that's going to be counter-productive going forward.
