Well the main context is that Röhm was gay
Which in and of itself is kind of tragic considering he was murdered and everyone was basically cheering them on for having killed the homo, even internationally, afaik. Of course, one has limited compassion for Nazis, but I *hope* the jabs in Brecht's piece were directed more towards the Nazis' hypocrisy than Röhms sexuality itself.
