Servers do a lot more work than supermarket cashiers. As a server, you have to greet and farewell customers. Take orders. Run food. Bus tables. Take payments. Check up on existing tables. All this while looking happy and cheerful and dealing with the 'delightful' public. All for minimum wage of course, which in the UK, you cannot possibly live on, so unless your server is a student, they probably have a second job.
If they do soooo much more, then why do they get paid the same?
Doesn't seem fair, does it?
