Nothing wrong with starting at the bottom. It's a niche market, I grant you; and the pay stinks. But you get the chance to bring down the cistern from the inside; the very bowels of the movement. Not to mention the opportunities for promotion are not to be sniffed at - after all, if you can keep from going clean round the bend, the only way is up and you get to go home, head held high, flushed with the knowledge of a big job well done.
