He can't do this. The Jesus as OT angel bullshit is evangelical revisionism. He will likely play Bible hopscotch tying together unassociated passages. First he will site passages from the Gospel of John indicating that Jesus existed before Abraham and came before John the Baptist to claim that Jesus existed before his birth. Next, there will be some reference to Gideon and how the author switched from using 'angel of the lord' to just 'lord'; the conclusion being that this must mean Jesus.
Idiots like this conveniently forget that in the OT 'Lord' referred directly to God. At this point you'll hear some bullshit about the trinity. When you challenge that with the fact that trinity doesn't appear in the NT, you will be countered with a reference to the baptism formula in Matthew 28:19 (father, son, holy ghost). You then point out that all other NT baptism formulas only invoke the name of Jesus and that it is well established by biblical scholars that the triune reference in Matthew was a later Catholic insertion. This will be dismissed by the evangelical since the only thing worse than the devil is a catholic and understanding that the basis of their belief is based on a catholic forgery is too much to handle.
The easier answer is that the OT was written by Jews long before Jesus (fact or fiction) was on the scene; meaning that there is no possible way anything in the OT referenced Jesus. At this point there will likely be some bullshit about God being the ultimate author in some form or fashion or at least parading as a muse. I then get to ask why the fuck God doesn't know the cure for leprosy. Inane excuses will be given making the infallibilist look even more stupid than already established and great fun will be had by all.
Amen.
