As an American, you have to filter out the religious insults lest you go insane, but it helps to remind yourself that the overwhelming majority of the people responsible for the attack you feel have poorly constructed viewpoints that they never challenge. The affront you feel to your sensibilities then becomes water on a duck's back.
Where I live it's rather an all out commercial attack than a religious one. But people usually don't tell you what they believe, let alone what you should believe. I would even be hard pressed to tell if any of my work collegues has any religious affiliation.
