I have problems with some aspects of extreme feminism. For instance, I once got into a vigorous debate with Sarah Braasch at Daylight Atheism based on her use of the term "gender genocide" regarding the state of gender relations in America -- this was around 2009 or 2010. To me, the use of such a term was beyond the pale, insofar as it was designed to elicit a visceral response of horror that in so doing not only marginalized the sufferings of people who'd actually endured genocidal events, but also, put all men on the same moral plane as, say, SS guards or Rwandan Hutus.
That apparently made me a reactionary who stood in the way of equality. I have a deep-seated distrust for extremism of any sort; but willingness to entertain middle ground is apparently "obscurantist".
