Perhaps it is an urban legend but I used to hear about people dating a nonbeliever in the south just to convert someone.

It was a group called 'Children of God' that were into seduction for converts. Mainstream xians try to dismiss them as a cult and cite that they were also into underage sexual activities, however they are essentially a Baptist offshoot.

I have a friend who grew up in the Children of God, aka The Family, and according to him, everything they're accused of is pretty much true. He was having sex with potential converts by the time he was eight.
