Love, valuing, appreciating vs Submission

I don't know how you can ever love someone who is threatening to fuck you up one way or another if you don't do what they say.

There surely has to be consequences when you transgress the rules that you've been told to follow. It is this way for a reason.

And a part of loving God is to accept His authority over us. If God was unconditionally merciful to all people no matter what they did, then He wouldn't exist as an authority over us, and so then people would just forget about Him as if they don't need Him anymore. That would create a passive and self-serving kind of love towards God because that's not going to change anyone. Real love transforms people and rouses them into action.

Slaves submit.

One day you and everyone else will return to their Lord like slaves, anyway ...

"The Day that the caller will call them to a terrible thing, they will come forth with humbled eyes from (their) graves as if they were locusts spread abroad. Hastening towards the caller, the disbelievers will say: 'This is a hard Day.'" (Surah 54:6-8)

Then the disbelievers will wish they had submitted.
