Ever bought Nike's? Aside from the actions at the factory where they produce those shoes, they like most shoe companies get their raw material from india. Why? because it is way cheaper to source the textiles and raw materials there. Why? Slave labor/Child labor.
No on the shoes? what about out of season fresh fruit or veggies? Where do you think peaches, apples, tomatoes cabbage ect.. comes from when it is outside of their northern hemisphere growning seasons?

South American countries where the large plantations more closly repersent the slave trade you think of when you reference that word.

Do you think if thier wasn't a demand for the products you 'need', these slaves would exist?

While you may not keep a slave yourself, your lifestyle demands that people/companies keep slaves on your behalf. When you 'pretend' that slaves don't exist and you 'pretend' that you live is not built on the backs of modern day slaves, you allow the companies you have tasked to keep slaves (with your purchases) the freedom to do with those people whatever they will.

The only way I would -not- treat the slave of another...is as a slave. Take that to the bank, midget.

Slavery is an issue, but not "the" issue. The issue is Christianity being completely outdated and irrelevant. Granted there are shitty economical situations around the world, I've personally witnessed a few. But the fact that it's in the bible, and Christianity's bitter defense of all of the things that don't apply to the modern world, is offensive. The Bible is fiction that is taken as fact.

What are you talking about? We are talking about slavery, and I have shown where this is a current and topical matter even if western soceity has redefined the term.
