The other lines you posted are examples of using the word slavery as metaphor and are not descriptions of actual conditions of slavery. Do you really not understand this? So I guess you are unaware that in most 'skilled' slave jobs the slave has to sign away years of their lives to get the training needed for the job?
Nor do you seem to be aware that when a imigrant worker seeks employment in some of the bigger plantations, the plantation offers 'housing' for their families. If the slave moves in then the essentually sell themselves to the company because the housing costs exceed what they make, meaning they and their whole family then becomes endentured to the company, until the whole debt is paid back to the company.
For some they have nothing else and no place to go, so this is a good deal for them. For other it means that they are stuck till they can buy themselves free.
