I imagine the stock apologetics on this follow one of two lines of thinking:

1) That's also bad, and shows America's decline. We totally shouldn't do that.

2) A single divorce is a single sin for which can be repented. This is the same as a single homosexual act. Contrast this with an ongoing, non-repentant homosexual lifestyle.

Now, just because they can make a distinction between the two in #2 doesn't mean that the core belief isn't baseless and stupid, but I'm sure that's pretty close to what they fall back on.
