how do you feel about circumcision?

I'm about finished writing a fantasy RPG setting based on Bantu mythology. I couldn't really talk about the society without touching on circumcision. I left male alone (done at puberty, of course), but changed FGM to 'genital cutting' where the clitoris is nicked with broken glass, just enough to make a spot of blood on a headband. This is actually done is some parts of Africa (and other parts do the full on FGM). I really tried for authenticity, but some things I'm just not going to perpetuate.
