Depends on which god you have in mind. Things would be interesting if the Greek or Norse gods were running around.

If you mean the omnipotent god of Christianity or Islam, the world would certainly be a whole fuck of a lot more orderly if that god interfered with day to day life as much as these holy books describe. Especially if god cared about us all as much as those same holy books say.
