The important thing is you're able to recognize that Stalin and Mao didn't kill people because they were atheist but because they were paranoid and power mad, why can't you draw the same conclusion in regard to religion? The Pope was and probably still is the single most powerful person on the planet. Don't you think he would do anything to keep that power?
My bullshit detector is going apeshit right now. Out of a number that large, he winkled out ten extra cases?
Anyway, chalking those deaths up to the cause of atheism is fallacious. Both Stalin and Mao were paranoid and power-mad, and they didn't select victims based on faith, but rather, on perceived threat to power. Anyone with a rudimentary education in history would know that.

A report, on the other hand, requires some time to gather and collate the data into a sensible whole, because it is not a simple telephone poll -- which are inherently biased -- but rather, a collection of statistics drawn out to find data.
As per usual the atheist tries to discredit the information. I find it interesting that we are not even discussing religion, yet you still have to take the opposite side of the argument. I don't even believe you guys are really even against religion, you just have a disagreeable psychology.
Lets recap shall we, as per usual Abris implies that the source of my information (Gallup) is flawed.

Quote:On a scale running from 0 to 10, people in over 150 countries, surveyed by Gallup over the period 2010-12, reveal a population-weighted average score of 5.1 (out of 10). Six key variables explain three-quarters of the variation in annual national average scores over time and among countries. These six factors include: real GDP per capita, healthy life expectancy, having someone to count on, perceived freedom to make life choices, freedom from corruption, and generosity.(the part in red is what I stated makes a happy society, as you can see, secularism isn't a criteria)
The report in the Wiki is from 2013, while the link I posted from the ACTUAL WEBSITE is from 2014, yet you try to explain why it's wrong when both reports are done by the same organization! smh
Ok sir, please post a link to the correct "report" if you have one....
