As far as I know, all the well-designed experiments have shown a null effect. Of course there are all different types of prayer and maybe someday an experiment will show a positive effect. That hasn't happened yet, so we should assume prayer doesn't work IMO.
Your opinion has no merit, I've seen prayer work time and again, I know you will dismiss it for one reason or the other, but you weren't there so you couldn't know the situation. Let's say for a minute you believed the God of the Bible was real, just saying, do you really think He would allow man to test Him in His goodness?
