I thought the questline did not live up to the promise. I was disappointed with it.
(avoiding spoilers)
I tend to agree. Killing the prime target at the apex of the questline appears to have very few ramifications on the game world - and it should. Not only that, but the questline was far too easy. All the intel needed to complete the quests was essentially handed to the player, and that should not be - not to mention that the side quests from Nazir are just so.... meh.
In TES3-TES5, the Dark Brotherhood/Morag Tong and Thieves' Guild are amongst my favorite factions, and the two that I'll always play, even on my Nth playthrough (what can I say, I'm a black-hearted villain).
The TG questline in Skyrim is a bit better than the DB questline, but I enjoyed the Oblivion TG questline more.
Something I've wondered about other Dark Brotherhood fans - when you first meet Astrid at the abandoned shack, which of the three targets do you kill and why?
