I saw a program about two years ago where an atheist woman went to live with a religious whacko family for a month (yes, they lived in the Bible Belt). It was quite interesting watching the interaction. The main problem was that the atheist didn't really shoot down the "God" arguments very well. The most vivid thing that sticks in my mind is the scene when they first meet and the husband of the religious whacko family asks the atheist woman where she gets her morals. She gave a tepid reply about "treating people with kindness". I would have immediately shot back, "Well, I can tell you where I don't get my morals... I don't get them from a book that says I can keep slaves!"
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.
