Somewhere above you mentioned something about freedom. Would you let your toddler wander onto a freeway? Would his freedom be more important than saving him from something really bad? Why would god create a bunch of flawed humans when he knows some will be so flawed that he will want to torture them forever? Why didn't he only make ones that he wouldn't want to mistreat?
Take a look at the personality of the god you believe in. Maybe you are telling yourself that you love him because you are scared of him, and you think he can read your mind to check if you are thinking nice thoughts about him.
