That's a terrible equation, atheists are not theists, the definition of theist is that you believe there is a god, therefore you are not atheist. IMO the "I don't make exceptions for gods" or "some of us take it one step further" are bad reasons to be an atheist. Also, my religious colleagues don't describe themselves as atheists to other religions, but as rival theists. Fundamentally, if you are a theist it's counter-productive to argue you're also an atheist to other religions, you are essentially a person that believes in one or more gods, therefore you are not an atheist
New member, basically atheism constitutes no belief in any gods, be it Allah, Yahweh, Buddha or whatever... Other atheists like me take it one step further and decide to assert certainty and knowledge that there are no gods. But we are not a religion since the only thing we have in common is our "no god" stance and even so we disagree on the precise definition of atheism
