Exactly how is an insult going to hurt an all powerful being? What humans are really protecting, is not a real god, what they are protecting is their own insecurities and or egos.
Yep. When people say "god" they just mean themselves. This has become more and more clear to me. It's a projection of themselves, most likely an idealised version. It's the perfect model for the way they "relate" to it. So if I insult your god, I am literally insulting you, according to that model.
But I mean, drawing the M man isn't even an insult. It's almost like, "Don't draw him, because it might become apparent he isn't real!"
I think it was Jefferson who said "To talk of the immaterial is to talk of nothingness".
Yes, humans need to face that god claims are merely a projection of their own insecurities and desires and egos. It is gap filling to ignore our finite reality.
