I can understand why some organizations, groups and institutions may restrict free speech, specially when it becomes hate speech. I sometimes post at a forum for discussion of politics and while expressing fascist ideologies is 100% allowed it's forbidden and grants you a ban to promote supremacism based on race (neo-nazism, etc.) - Basically, saying "Let's preserve our ethnicity" is ok, but saying "Niggers are inferior let's kick them out" is not.
I must condone groups that censor free speech - Silencing dissent is not going to work out for you. Whenever I met a group or institution that silences everyone who doesn't agree I usually assume there's something wrong with them. Having diverse opinions and points of view on the grounds of civility and rational debate is good for any group, I don't see why someone would not allow it - Even in a context of social justice where many people's sensitivity may be at stake, allowing others to express opposite views is recommended. You have a much greater chance of convincing someone that you're right if you avoid censoring them and personal insults.

Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss, the abyss will gaze back into you
