That sounds like a pretty interesting trip you've been on, Rev. Following a year or so of sustained mania I had one bout of depression in my twenties which lasted about a year but felt more like several. My maternal grandmother was probably Schizophrenic and my mother was diagnosed bipolar. But that was almost forty years ago and I've been steady since. I don't doubt my use of recreational drugs at that time helped to trigger both states, but as I never got treated for either I don't really know. It doesn't really matter now.
I am three and a half months away from becoming one more useless human being to quote a patent lawyer friend who worked into his early 80's. As a middle school teacher (math), that sounds pretty damned good to me. I've already asked Rasetsu on pointers for being a bum. I think I'm up for this. I can't wait to read all I want to and to take cat naps in the middle of the day (brilliant idea Min). Also looking forward to taking a good walk at least every other day and having loads of time to be in (no, not in that way) and tinker with the garden. Plus my wife is ten years my senior and has a slew of health problems so I think I can help her some with her art career and make us better meals regularly.
Oh, and my real name is Mark and soon it won't make any difference as I won't have any students to protect from the knowledge of my godlessness. I've invited Rebecca up for our garden/studio party this year. It will be mostly garden and art nerds but sometime I'd like to host a sleepover for all comers from AForg.
