Many weddings are ridiculous. I went to one about two years ago, and I can't even imagine what it must have cost. There was an open bar, a DJ, limousine...you name it, they had it. Personally, I wouldn't want to start a marriage in debt because of a lavish wedding. Mine and my wife's wedding cost around $700 - that is including her dress and my suit, a small reception, and feeding our guests. It's quite possible to have a reasonable wedding, but few people are opting for reasonable it seems.
