It has everything to do with rationality when the people involved weren't looking at all the facts, and in some cases, blatantly ignored them in order to come up with their decisions. They were the ones who started claiming the staff were trying to take over, or that we'd destroyed the "freedom of thought" on the forums. A tad over-dramatic I think...certainly not a very rational response.
