Me, civility is not about playing thought police; it's more about the Brass Rule. I make change in the coin tendered. So long as my interlocutor is courteous, I'm happy, and do prefer, to be courteous. But insulting horseshit doesn't get a pass.
Agreed, the only ones on this privately owned website who get to dictate are the owners and the moderators who they deputize to delegate the traffic lights. The rest of us are subject to their rule.
