A man finds happiness and gives help to a little girl that humanity let down and all you can do is be sullen.
They have never shown us how 'God' works, They have relayed stories that they attribute to their god. No evidence, just anecdotes. Sorry, unimpressed.
I'm not blind to your and other Christian's unsupported assertions. I am just not gullible. I am open to accepting that a god exists, all I require is demonstrable evidence and reasoned argument to support the claim. If the arguments that you and other Christians provide are the best there are, I will remain an unbeliever.
It is great that a little girl was helped. But there is no need to evoke a god in this story. Little Christian girls are abused at the same rate as non-Christian girls. Non-Christian girls are helped at the same rate as Christian girls.
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
