I don't know, there's Gnostism: The god of the OT was a fatally flawed god who made earth in a fit a rebelliousness spite and trapped a number spirits here on this planet, thus dooming them to death. We are those doomed spirits and Jesus came to give us the secret knowledge to escape our fate and become the true gods we actually are when we die. The knowledge is a sort of self knowledge rather that a secret handshake. It's bunk too. But it's prettier bunk than the usually Christian and Islamic fare and at least it explains evil.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god. If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.
