OLD TESTAMENT
The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (Isaiah 40:8)
NEW TESTAMENT
The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. (I Peter 1:24-25, quoting from Isaiah)
And yet many Christians are selective on what applies today and what does not.
