Hello, new to the forums here so I thought I would do a little introduction. I was raised in a fairly christian household, my mom and dad took me and my sisters to church. When I was a kid I was in awanes, or whatever the hell its called, and went to Sunday school with the memory verse ready every Sunday. Eventually as I grew up I started to question things and developed an enjoyment of science. Through out high school I only went to church when I was forced to never really enjoyed it, and found it to be kind of stupid. I joined the marines and "found religion" again going through training. However after a lot of unanswered prayers and being told that it was "gods will" I questioned again and spent pretty much an entire deployment researching Christianity, religion, and science. I found that I had my ideas clouded by religious delusion and eventually decided that the answer "I don't know" is better than choosing an answer based on ancient beliefs and dogma. I kept looking into atheism and agnosticism and found that I depend on experts in areas such as medical or a mechanic that I should look to experts that spend their lives work dedicated to searching for the truths of the universe to find anwsers. So I became an atheist as I found that not only do I have to accept the experts word on things and that they have evidence that would more than hold up in a court of law and religion did not. So that's my story and honestly i'm happier now for it.
