I assumed that before moving here, but have discovered otherwise. Atlanta has fast aggressive drivers. If you try to go the speed limit you will get run the fuck over. I'm okay with that; I just drive faster myself.
I see all kinds of stupid on the roads in NYC: turning right from three lanes away, creating non-existent lanes, and the frequent meaningless horn blasts. It still blows my mind that the asshole seven cars back immediately jumps on his horn the split second a light turns green. There are certainly assholes everywhere, but it is rare to see any form of courtesy on the roads here. I don't think it is aggressive as much as everyone is totally self absorbed when behind the wheel.
